PATAGONIA
Equipment and travel tips



  Our seasons are in reverse to the Northern Hemisphere. If you have visited and fished Montana, be equipped for similar weather conditions.
We suggest you bring:
  • Chest waders with felt soles
  • Rain Jacket
  • PFD and/or SOSpenders
  • Polarized glasses
  • Sun gloves
  • Sun screen lotion
  • Wide brim hat
  • Camera and film
  • Include a sweater and a light jacket for the occasional cold days
  Basic fly fishing equipment should consist of two fly rods:
 
  • 8 to 9 ft., 4 to 5 weight, for dry flies
  • 9 ft., 7 to 8 weight, for streamers and nymphs
  • reels loaded with 100 yds. of backing
  • WF floating and WF/FS tip lines matching the rod
  • Hi speed Hi D wet tip for those special occasions when casting streamers while floating large rivers
  There are excellent caddis hatches and rest assured we will send you a suggested list of fly patterns based on your travel dates.
